Per usual, dear reader, as I have mentioned before on my theatrical bingo card. I did not know what Arcadia was about. I had a sense of some time travel, but that was it, and it was far from what I had imagined. I was expecting more of a Sliding Doors play. I’ve also mentioned on here that beauty lies in perception, and this was a total rabbit-hole play for me in all the good ways. I mean, my brain also works that way, but yeah…

The story of three Bavarian Jewish brothers who came to Montgomery, Alabama, in the late 1800s with nothing and gradually built an empire that would last almost 200 years, ending in shattering fashion.   A running time of three hours and forty minutes with two intermissions, ‘Trilogy features Jacob Caltrider as Mayer Lehman; Steven Lone as Emmanuel Lehman; and Bruce Turk as Henry Lehman. Massini’s work is well-crafted, and each act covers important periods in history

Although charming, the show is long. It feels like watching one of those extended version films.

With The Hot Wing King, the launch was rocky due to its 2020 opening, before the pandemic struck, so it didn’t have much time to gain traction among audiences, and the reviews were mixed.
