Interviews and Articles Took the Winnings for 2025
This is my second year participating in the San Diego Press Club awards for Excellence in Journalism, and last year, I was blown away by the response and by my first time experiencing not only these awards but awards in general.
For 2025, I wanted to exercise my journalism skills more through interviews and articles, in addition to the reviews. And although my review, “Theatre Does Justice Once More,” did not win, I am very proud of her.
Here are the pieces that were recognized:
In the “Television/Online Video Interview/Talk Show” category.
First Place :
Second Place:
In the “Television and Online Video News Feature-Series” category.
Third Place:
My beloved series that I am super proud of: Theatres in San Diego From Another Zero:
My article, “The use of cell phones during a performance: a latent issue that is becoming more aggressive,” received an Honorable Mention. And yes, I am also very proud of this article, as these conversations need to be addressed, and topics like using a cell phone during a performance should not be normalized and/or ignored.
Thank you to the theatre community in San Diego for their support in these interviews and tours. The San Diego Theatre Critics Circle and, of course, my family —my husband, who comes with me to almost every performance and sometimes plays cameraman.
